Ruwenzori mountains hike (Mount Stanely, Mount Baker and Mount Speke) - The highest mountain ranges in Africa selected by National geographic as one of the world's best hikes.

Mountains of the moonDay one -  Kasese
Depart Kampala for Kasese, making a lunch stop in Fort Portal. Dinner and overnight in Fort Portal/Kasese
 
Day two – 2650 Meters/8694ft
Morning, transfer to Nyakalengija for weighing and porter allocation before starting the climb of about 5 hours to the first  hut. Picnic lunches will be served this day before climbing through the moss to the  Nyabitaba Hut (2650metres) for dinner and overnight.

Day three – 3350 Meters/10990ft
Start early after breakfast and climb through the Kurt Shafer Bridge that crosses the Mobuku River Confluence. This 5 hour hike takes you through the bamboo, Lobelia and heath finally ending at John Matte Hut (3350m).

Day four – 3977 Meters/13047ft
The climb this day gets boggy as you hike through Giant heather, Lobelias and groundsel through the Cooking Pot to the overnight hut at Bujuku. The average hiking time for this section is 4.5 - 5 hours. Overnight at Bujuku Hut (3977) Hut.

Day five – 4541 Meters/14898ft
Today after breakfast, we will hike to Mount Speke and return to overnight at Bujuku hut.
 
Day six -4541 Meters/14898ft
 Breakfast at leisure and proceed on a muddy hike through steep cliffs. This is a section of Giant Groundsels and Lobelias that characterized the higher section of the Mountain. Ascend further to Elena Hut which acts as a base for the final assent of the highest peak of the Rwenzori Mountains. Meals and overnight at Elena Hut (4541m)
 
Day seven – 5109 Meters/16761ft
Rise up very early before sunrise and walk through the snow to Margherita peak (5109m). If weather conditions are favorable, sunset would find you at the peak where you would take pictures. From here, descend to the Kitandara Lakes. Meals and overnight at the Kitandara Hut 4,023m.
 
Day eight - Mount Baker
Today, after breakfat, we will hike to Mount Baker another peak of the Rwenzori mountains.Return to dinner and overnight at Kitandara hut.
 
Day nine – 3260 Meters/10695ft
The descent gets you through beautiful views of the Congo and the alpine moss. The trail then leads through the Bujongolo and Kabamba rock shelters. This trip takes an average of 6 hours to Guy Yeoman Hut, 3.261 m. Meals and overnight at Guy Yeoman Hut (3260m).

Day ten – 2650 Meters/8694ft
The descent of about 6 hours starts to Nyabitaba through the heather zone, Mobuku River and the Bamboo forest before heading to your final hut in the Mountains. Meals and overnight at Nyabitaba hut (2650m).

Day eleven - Kampala
Final descent of the Rwenzori Mountains, you will then be transferred to Kampala or to another park should you so choose.
 
 
 
 

MOUNT ELGON - 4,321 meters

Mount ElgonDay One
Arrive Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our driver/guide and transferred to your hotel accommodation in Kampala. Depending on your time of arrival, go for a city tour, visit Garden city mall to acquire local currency. Welcome!

Day Two – Jinja (The adventure capital of East Africa)
After early breakfast we will leave the Kampala and head to Jinja, were we find the source of the mighty Nile River. Possible stops at the Mabira forest one of Uganda’s lush tropical forests a haven for several bird species and primates, the source the Nile River, bujagali falls, bungee into the Nile, jetty on the Nile - Race up the rapids at breathtaking speeds powered by 450HP of motor, White-water rafting. Dinner and overnight in Jinja.

Day Three – Sipi Falls
We depart Jinja and drive eastwards through Mbale – Uganda’s third largest city, we will proceed to the magnificent Sipi Falls. The activities here include caving, hiking, and abseiling. Hikes around the falls offer stunning views of the Karamoja plains and the slopes of Mt. Elgon. Dinner and overnight at Sipi Falls

Day Four – 2850 Meters/9350ft
After a hearty breakfast we will transfer you to Kapkwata at 2190 meters, from where you will start your hike, following the Kapkwata Trail. It is a scenic route running through the bamboo, heath and moor land, arriving at the Piswa Camp at 2850 meters. Dinner and camping at Piswa Hut Campsite.

Day Five – 3850 Meters/12631ft
Hike up to the rim of the caldera through beautiful columns of the most rare and endemic plant species like the giant Lobelia Elgonensis. And of course a visit to the slopes of Mount Elgon can’t go without finding the wild Everlasting flowers. Visit the hot springs and Suam Gorge before descending to the Hunters Cave Camp at 3850 meters. Dinner and camping at Hunters Cave Camp.

Day Six – 4200 Meters/13779ft
Morning breakfast, and then ascend to the top of the caldera to the Wagagai Peak at 4321 meters. Descend thereafter through the Jackson summit (4200 meter) and the Jackson pool to arrive at Mude Cave Camp at 3500 meters. Dinner and camping at Mude Cave Camp.

Day Seven - Kampala
Early morning, descend through the Sasa trail to Budadiri and then travel back to Mbale town. After having lunch in this calm place we will continue to Kampala where you can relax and reflect on your climb of the second highest summit in Uganda. Dinner and overnight in Kampala.
